  1. 2012 Brezza Langhe Nebbiolo

    2012 Brezza Langhe Nebbiolo

    $24.99

Brezza 2012 Langhe Nebbiolo. From the oldest estate in Barolo, still old school in style. From silt and sandy soils done in stainless steel and cement vats. Soft red fruits with mushroom in the nose with spice and raspberry as well. There is a lighter bodied frame with more of the present red cherry and a quite light body. D&M Tasting Notes The Brezza private estate, with vineyards in Barolo dating back to 1885, takes its name from Giacomo Brezza, who with his father Antonio bottled the first wine of the estate in 1910. The estate lies very close to the centre of Barolo, immersed in the vineyards, as is the nearby Hotel and Restaurant, also property of the Brezza family. The fourth generation of the Brezza family now manages the estate, which extends over twenty-two hectares, sixteen and a half of which are vineyards–twelve and a half in Barolo, one in the commune of Monforte, one in the commune of Novello, and two in Alba. The original part of the cellar, built in the traditional vaulted style, with exposed brick, was once the area where all cellar operations took place; it is now reserved for the maturation of wine in oak. - See more at: http://dandm.com/wine/italy/italy-red-northern-piedmont/brezza-2012-langhe-nebbiolo.html#sthash.EOlK0b3i.dpuf Learn More

Vigna Elena is an uncompromising wine, strictly for Barolo purists, that has makes no concessions to market demand or taste trends. To create this honest Barolo, we respectfully and meticulously follow the experience handed down to us by our grandparents: from the choice of the nebbiolo clone (for many years now, 100% rosè) to the cultivation system, yield, use of native yeasts, ageing in large barrels — plus, of course, the Langhe microclimate in bumper harvests. All this care and attention produce a wine worthy of its history and tradition, capable of raising the profile of the Barolo denomination. The excellence of Barolo Vigna Elena is attested to by the label: a chick drawn by Elena for her mother Nadia and her father Valter when she was only three years old. Ever since then this has been the symbol of the wine. Learn More
